Full Job Description Job Objective:

Under the immediate management of the Director of Engineering and Engineering Supervisor, performs work with a high degree of accuracy and skill maintaining the overall appearance of the Medical Center grounds. Inform Director and Supervisor of absent employees, order supplies and equipment. Coordinates activities for the care of Medical Center grounds, assigns tasks to Groundskeepers, plans and reviews work projects, repairs equipment and items that are associated with the upkeep of the Medical Center grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees Maintenance and Safety of Campus:

Maintains the overall appearance of the Medical Center grounds. Coordinates and supervises activities for the care of Medical Center grounds. Maintains and repairs equipment and other items associated with upkeep of grounds. Plans and reviews for work projects. Operates the Medical Center vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner. Inform Director and supervisor of any problem areas.

Employee Coordination:

Inform the Director and Supervisor of schedule shortages. Assign tasks to Groundskeepers. Determines work priorities, assigns, and assists.

Computer and Office Support:

Orders supplies and equipment after notifying Director and Supervisor.

Non-Essential Duties:

Assists in other areas as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge Knowledge of methods of Landscaping Knowledge of the use and care of motorized equipment and hand/power tools used in ground maintenance work. Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides. Knowledge of irrigation techniques using sprinklers, hoses and flooding methods Skills Communicate effectively Abilities Ability to follow oral instructions and read written instructions Ability to use hand tools, operate motorized equipment and vehicles such as cars, trucks and vans. Ability to Bend or stoop repeatedly over time.

Education and Experience:

Education High School diploma or equivalent is required Experience 5 years' experience working in Landscaping and managing staff Required Licensure and/or

Certifications:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work involves standing and walking for the majority of the day, and requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling and reaching. Majority of work is performed outside during all seasons and all weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Will require frequent climbing to 5-10 feet, occasionally over 15 feet. Will require frequent pushing/pulling of up to 50 lbs. Will require frequent lifting of up to 10lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Exposure to loud noises, chemicals, odors, fumes, moving and mechanical parts, with use of PPE required.
