In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and accessible walkways, driveways, and outdoor areas during winter months by efficiently removing snow and ice. Your proactive approach will help maintain the safety and appearance of our grounds, allowing residents, employees, or visitors to navigate outdoor spaces comfortably and securely. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained environment while working outdoors in dynamic weather conditions. Responsibilities Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, pathways, driveways, parking lots, and other designated outdoor areas using shovels and snow removal equipment. Apply salt or de-icing agents to prevent ice buildup and ensure safety during winter weather. Operate groundskeeping equipment such as snow blowers, power shovels, or other manual tools safely and efficiently. Monitor weather conditions regularly to anticipate snow accumulation and plan timely removal efforts. Follow all safety protocols to prevent slips, trips, falls, or equipment-related accidents during outdoor work. Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of all snow removal tools and equipment. Communicate effectively with team members regarding priority areas or safety concerns related to winter weather. Requirements Prior experience in outdoor groundskeeping or landscaping is preferred; familiarity with snow removal techniques is a plus. Mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and groundskeeping equipment such as snow blowers or shovels. Ability to operate landscaping maintenance equipment safely in outdoor environments. Strong physical stamina for extended periods of outdoor work in cold weather conditions. Knowledge of safety protocols related to outdoor winter maintenance activities. Basic understanding of landscape maintenance, gardening, hardscape features, and irrigation systems is advantageous but not required. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety and efficiency during snow removal tasks.
