Facilities Manager

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Facilities Technician supports the Facilities Manager in maintaining the safety, appearance, functionality, and operational readiness of the campus. This position plays an important role in preserving the school's buildings, grounds, natural areas, outdoor learning environments, and recreational spaces while supporting the daily needs of students, staff, and visitors. The Facilities Technician works both independently and as part of a team to ensure the campus remains safe, welcoming, well-maintained, and conducive to learning. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying needs, addressing issues, and supporting the overall stewardship of the school environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety & Stewardship Maintain awareness of campus conditions and identify potential safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or operational issues. Assist in maintaining a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Support emergency preparedness, response, and campus safety initiatives as directed. Assist in securing buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities. Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements. Immediately report any hazards, incidents, damage, or concerns that require corrective action. Demonstrate responsible stewardship of school property, equipment, materials, and natural resources. Campus Appearance & Grounds Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of campus grounds, athletic fields, buildings, walkways, parking areas, and common spaces. Maintain outdoor play areas, activity spaces, and outdoor learning environments to ensure they remain safe, attractive, and functional for students. Perform mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, planting, weeding, and general landscape maintenance. Assist in maintaining trails, wooded areas, ponds, and other natural campus features. Assist in managing invasive vegetation through approved manual, mechanical, and chemical methods. Support campus beautification projects and seasonal improvements. Maintain exterior surfaces, structures, and site furnishings in a clean, safe, and professional condition. Facilities Maintenance Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, and campus infrastructure. Conduct painting, pressure washing, cleaning, and maintenance activities as assigned. Assist in identifying maintenance needs and implementing corrective actions. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition. Assist in monitoring the condition of facilities and campus infrastructure to ensure operational readiness. Campus Operations Support Assist with campus events, programs, and special projects. Support daily operational needs and respond to work requests as assigned. Track inventory levels of commonly used supplies, materials, and equipment. Assist with receiving, moving, storing, and organizing campus materials and deliveries. Support implementation of campus improvement projects and long-term maintenance initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager. SALARY:

Salary commensurate with experience. Starting rate of $18.00 per hour. This is a full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

High School Diploma or higher required Experience in facilities maintenance, landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, custodial services, or a related field. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and grounds maintenance equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
