In this energetic role, you will support our dentist and hygienists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Assist our dentist during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing efficient chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and manage vital signs to monitor patient comfort and safety. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in paperless Carestream Practiceworks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients, answering the phone, returning calls and text messaging. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Assist with sterilization procedures, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean clinical environment to uphold the highest standards of safety. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking digital X-rays, and performing intraoral procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical documentation and records management is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatric dentistry patients; experience in pediatrics is a plus. Knowledge of, and familiarity with, HIPAA compliance standards. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; ongoing professional development in dental assisting is encouraged.
