Full-Time Local Sprinkler & Landscape is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and experienced Irrigation & Landscape Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on irrigation and landscaping experience who can troubleshoot problems, complete quality repairs, and provide professional service to our residential and commercial customers. Duties & Responsibilities Perform irrigation service calls, repairs, installations, and system maintenance Conduct complete irrigation system inspections and wet checks Run and inspect every irrigation zone to identify problems Diagnose low pressure, zones not operating, zones stuck on, leaks, and other system problems Troubleshoot irrigation wiring, solenoids, valves, controllers/timers, pumps, and pump-start relays Locate buried irrigation valves and damaged wiring Repair and replace broken sprinkler heads, rotors, spray heads, nozzles, valves, fittings, and PVC piping Raise, lower, straighten, relocate, and adjust sprinkler heads for proper coverage Install and replace irrigation controllers and properly program watering schedules Install and repair rain sensors when applicable Repair underground irrigation wiring and electrical connections Perform PVC cutting, fitting, gluing, and pipe repairs Assist with installation of new irrigation systems and additional irrigation zones Install and repair valve manifolds Assist with irrigation pumps, pressure tanks, suction lines, check valves, and related components Identify poor coverage and make appropriate recommendations to improve system performance Convert or modify existing irrigation zones when necessary Install drip irrigation and bubblers for trees, shrubs, and landscape beds Perform landscape installation and maintenance work as assigned Install sod, plants, shrubs, mulch, decorative rock, edging, and other landscape materials Prepare areas for sod and landscape installation, including digging, grading, raking, and cleanup Load, unload, and safely transport tools, equipment, plants, sod, pipe, and other materials Properly use and maintain company tools and equipment Keep company vehicles, trailers, tools, and work areas clean and organized Maintain a clean and professional jobsite Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers Explain completed work and basic system operation to customers when necessary Take job photos and properly document completed work when required Notify management of additional repairs or materials needed Follow assigned work orders and company procedures Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship Follow all company safety procedures Work independently when required and cooperate with other technicians and crew members Perform other irrigation and landscaping duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements Valid driver's license required Must have a good/reliable driving history and be comfortable driving company vehicles Must have reliable transportation to and from work Previous professional irrigation and/or landscaping experience required/preferred Knowledge of residential and commercial irrigation systems is strongly preferred Must understand the basic operation of irrigation zones, valves, sprinkler heads, controllers, and piping Experience troubleshooting irrigation systems is highly preferred Experience with PVC pipe repair and installation Experience with irrigation valves, solenoids, wiring, controllers, pumps, and sprinkler heads is a plus Ability to identify irrigation problems and determine appropriate repairs Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, shovels, pipe cutters, multimeters, and other irrigation-related equipment Must understand and speak basic English Must be able to understand basic instructions, safety information, addresses, work orders, and customer requests in English Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but is not required Must be dependable and report to work on time Must have a strong work ethic and positive attitude Must be willing to learn and follow company procedures Must be able to work independently without constant supervision once trained Must also be able to work effectively as part of a team Must be professional and respectful when interacting with customers and coworkers Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned work efficiently Must be able to work outdoors throughout the year in Florida heat, sun, and changing weather conditions Must be physically capable of digging, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and lifting throughout the workday Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working around dirt, mud, water, landscaping materials, and outdoor conditions Must take care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment Must maintain clean and professional work areas Must follow safety procedures at all times Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following will receive additional consideration: Irrigation troubleshooting and service Sprinkler system installation Hunter, Rain Bird, K-Rain, or similar irrigation products Irrigation controllers and Wi-Fi controllers Irrigation pumps and pump-start relays Valve and solenoid troubleshooting Electrical/wire troubleshooting PVC installation and repair Drip irrigation Landscape installation Sod installation Plant and shrub installation Commercial irrigation systems Driving work trucks and trailers Compensation $24.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's irrigation knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, landscaping experience, driving experience, and ability to work independently. Experienced irrigation technicians who can independently diagnose problems, perform repairs, operate company vehicles, and complete service calls with minimal supervision may qualify for the higher end of the pay range.
