Full Time Summary:
The Turf Technician plays a vital role in the daily maintenance and enhancement of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This position ensures optimal playing conditions and aesthetic appeal by performing a variety of turf care and equipment operation tasks in alignment with the Atlanta Athletic Club's mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare the golf course for daily play, ensuring high-quality playing conditions Operate and maintain turf equipment including mowers for greens, fairways, tees, collars, approaches, and roughs Maintain and groom bunkers, including hand raking and edging Operate heavy equipment as needed for turf and landscape projects Conduct daily equipment checks and report issues to the Superintendent or Equipment Manager Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to learn turf care practices and equipment operation Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor in varying weather conditions Must be able to perform physical activities such as frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, pulling, extensive walking and standing Familiarity with safety equipment and procedures (e.g., respirators, gloves, ear/eye protection, boots) Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance is a plus but not required
