Job Description
The Cutting Edge is seeking a hardworking and dependable Groundsworker to support our landscaping, land clearing, and tree trimming operations throughout Kauai. This position is responsible for assisting crews with property maintenance, vegetation management, debris removal, equipment operation, and general labor tasks. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is safety-conscious, and takes pride in maintaining high-quality work standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with tree trimming, pruning, tree removals, and vegetation management projects. Perform brush clearing, weed control, and land clearing activities. Operate and maintain landscaping and tree care equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, blowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, and other hand and power tools. Load, unload, and transport equipment, tools, and materials to job sites. Remove and dispose of green waste, tree debris, and other job site materials. Assist climbers, bucket operators, and crew leaders during tree work operations. Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, and cleanup. Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Maintain a clean and organized worksite and company vehicles. Assist with storm cleanup and emergency response work as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired Valid Hawaii driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to work on uneven terrain, slopes, and in varying weather conditions. Reliable transportation and attendance. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work safely as part of a team. Preferred Previous experience in landscaping, tree care, land clearing, construction, or outdoor labor. Experience operating chainsaws, brush cutters, wood chippers, mini excavators, skid steers, or similar equipment. Knowledge of tree trimming and vegetation management practices. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly desirable and may qualify for additional opportunities and compensation. First Aid/CPR certification. ISA, TCIA, or related industry certifications. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, and other environmental conditions common on Kauai. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
