Job Description
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated person to handle lawn care and light exterior property maintenance for our rental properties in Waterloo. We have approximately 50 properties located close together , making this a very efficient mowing route. There is very little driving between properties, and in many cases the mower can simply be driven from one property to the next. This is a good position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, likes working independently, and wants steady part-time seasonal work. We will have Fall outdoor work still this season. Responsibilities Mow residential lawns Trim around buildings, fences, trees, signs, and other areas Edge or trim sidewalks and driveways as needed Blow grass clippings from sidewalks and driveways Pick up trash and debris Perform light yard cleanup Keep mowing and lawn equipment reasonably clean Report damaged equipment or maintenance needs Let us know when you notice exterior property problems Perform occasional additional outdoor property-maintenance tasks What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Dependable and punctual Comfortable working independently Able to work outdoors and perform physical lawn-care work Careful around buildings, vehicles, landscaping, and other property Able to operate lawn-care equipment safely Able to follow an established mowing route Willing to trim and clean up rather than simply mow and leave Respectful and pleasant with residents and neighbors Reliable transportation and cell phone Valid Iowa Driver's License Experience with a riding mower or zero-turn mower is preferred. Professional landscaping experience is helpful but not required . We are willing to train a reliable person who is comfortable operating lawn equipment. Schedule Approximately 20-25 hours per week during mowing season , depending on weather and lawn growth. There is some flexibility in scheduling, but lawns need to be completed reliably each week. Additional hours may occasionally be available for: Yard cleanup Leaf cleanup Exterior property cleanup Other basic property-maintenance work
