Job Description

Duties :
Under the supervision of the Assistant Golf Course Manager, the Golf Course Maintenance Staff is responsible for the following: Performing all duties assigned for the maintenance of the park property. This includes various different operations, such as: Mowing with a push mower or riding mower Trimming with power weed trimmers or manually Emptying garbage barrels and picking up litter Cleaning and maintaining public restrooms Flower beds - planting, weeding, watering And maintenance of all equipment. Reporting any vandalism, unusual condition, emergency, or incident to the Assistant Golf Course Manager immediately. Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Supporting all aspects of the Park District's safety program. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions :
Ability to reach, walk, pull, kneel, squat, and bend at the waist and knees. Ability to operate machinery relative to job duties. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience :
Previous experience operating trucks, tractors, mowing equipment, and other machinery used in ground maintenance. Must be 17 years of age or older.
Knowledge and Ability :
Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Aptitude for on-the-job training. Ability to understand and complete record keeping and paperwork relative to job duties. Ability to work harmoniously with Park District personnel and the public. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
