Job Description

Odyssey Golf Foundation Golf Course Tinley Park, Illinois Overview:
The Golf Course Maintenance/Equipment Operator, under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent (GCS) and or Crew Foreman, performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks and other turf maintenance related equipment.
Functions:
Operates various types of equipment, including but not limited to, walk behind mowers, triplex mowers, large area reel and rotary style mowers, blowers, sprayers, various heavy equipment and hand-held tools and equipment. May operate smaller equipment as directed by GCS and or Crew Foreman. Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to the Turf Equipment Technician immediately. Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the Turf Equipment Technician, and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility. Performs other duties related to maintain the golf course as directed by GCS and or Crew Foreman.
Employment standards:
Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment. Mechanical aptitude. Positive Attitude Team Player Ability to follow oral and written directions. Availability to work early mornings & weekends when necessary. Performs other duties as necessary when directed by GCS and or Crew Foreman.
