The Groundskeeper is responsible for ensuring the exterior of the hotel creates a positive first impression for every guest. This position includes landscaping, general property upkeep, outdoor cleaning, and assisting with minor exterior maintenance to keep the grounds attractive and well maintained throughout the year. Responsibilities Maintain the appearance of all hotel grounds, including lawns, landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and outdoor common areas. Mow grass, trim shrubs and hedges, edge sidewalks, and remove weeds. Plant, water, mulch, and care for flowers, trees, and landscaping. Sweep sidewalks, pick up litter, empty exterior trash receptacles, and remove debris from the property. Pressure wash sidewalks, curbs, entrances, and other exterior surfaces as needed. Keep parking lots clean and free of trash, leaves, and hazards. Remove snow and apply ice melt to sidewalks and entrances during winter weather. Inspect the property daily for safety hazards and report maintenance concerns promptly. Replace exterior light bulbs and assist with minor outdoor maintenance projects as assigned. Maintain outdoor furniture, signage, and guest amenities. Operate landscaping equipment safely, including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and pressure washers. Assist the maintenance department with exterior projects when needed. Ensure all landscaping equipment and tools are cleaned, maintained, and stored properly after use. Follow all hotel safety procedures and company policies. Perform other duties assigned by management. Qualifications Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, maintenance, or outdoor labor experience preferred. Ability to operate lawn care and landscaping equipment safely. Basic knowledge of landscaping and property maintenance. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and professional appearance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable attendance and punctuality are required. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays when needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift throughout an entire shift. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Ability to safely operate landscaping and maintenance equipment.
