Overview Join our dynamic team as a Groundsman and play a vital role in maintaining the health, safety, and aesthetic appeal of outdoor landscapes. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors in a variety of environments, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to care for trees, lawns, and landscape features. As a Groundsman, you will support arborists and landscape professionals by performing essential maintenance tasks that ensure vibrant, safe, and well-manicured outdoor spaces. Responsibilities Assist with tree care activities including pruning, trimming, and removal using arborist rigging techniques and chainsaws. Operate bucket trucks safely to access elevated areas for tree trimming or landscape work. Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general upkeep to enhance outdoor aesthetics. Support tree removal projects by rigging and dismantling large branches or trees with proper safety protocols. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping and planning landscape layouts or tree inventories. Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance on tools like chainsaws, bucket trucks, and rigging gear. Follow strict safety procedures during all outdoor activities to ensure personal safety and that of team members. Experience Previous outdoor work experience in landscaping, horticulture, or arboriculture is highly preferred. Familiarity with arborist rigging techniques, tree removal practices, and landscape maintenance is advantageous. Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks and chainsaws safely is essential. Knowledge of plant pruning care, tree trimming, dendrology (study of trees), and general horticulture practices is beneficial. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working at heights or with heavy equipment. Growing experience in lawn care, landscape upkeep, or gardening will support your success in this role. Strong physical stamina and outdoor adaptability are necessary to thrive in this energetic position.
