About This Role This position exists to provide operation of a wide variety of medium and small sized equipment for completion of grounds tasks and assistance in general grounds maintenance. About Us The role of the Grounds Maintenance and Landscape Department is to provide a safe, functional and aesthetically-pleasing exterior environment for the students, faculty and staff of Kansas State University. The main campus of K-State consists of 250 acres of intensely landscaped area. The Grounds Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance and installation of all turfgrass, shrubs, trees and annual flower beds on campus. Worksite Description This position is On-site . All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to
Succeed Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Six months of experience in equipment operation; education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Knowledge of the general practices applied in the care and safe operation of a wide variety of light to medium maintenance equipment, knowledge of standard safety practices. Ability to operate a wide variety of lighter and some heavy equipment. Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing; knowledge of grounds, tree, and shrub care.
