Haymarket's garden team combines a range of responsibilities focusing on diversified crop production and propagation of annual vegetables, flowers, and herbs as part of a four-season production opration. We have an immediate opening for a Garden Team Member to join our dynamic team! This position will have a team of direct reports and will report to the Gardener. Responsibilities & Duties Operational tasks associated with hoop-houses and garden soil preparation, planting and crop production as directed by Gardener's workflow plan Maintenance of greenhouse, hoop-house and wash/pack infrastructure and associated systems (irrigation, tools & equipment) Assistance in operational needs associated with propagation and wash/pack May be required to operate general and specialized equipment including utility vehicles and tractors with attachments such as loaders and other specialized equipment; fertilizer spreaders, sprayers; etc... Utilizes hand and power tools to complete assignments including chain saws, weed-eaters, blowers… Routinely inspects equipment and provides maintenance when needed Ensures delivery vehicles are clean and well maintained Fulfillment of CSA, wholesale, and farmers market orders Follows all safety guidelines Performs other duties as required or requested Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with policies and procedures Maintains a positive working relationship with all company employees. Promotes a cooperative and fair working environment to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency Physical Requirements Hours may vary due to season and weather conditions Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, heavy lifting and repetitive hand and wrist motion Work in hot, cold, and wet conditions with hazardous equipment. Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
