Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and strong Garden Lead to join our team dedicated to transforming outdoor spaces into vibrant, sustainable environments. The Horticulture Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of horticultural services including mulching, bed maintenance, pruning, plant care, and general grounds work. This role focuses on leading crew members in the field, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to company quality standards. This position requires strong leadership in day-to-day operations. The Horticulture Crew Lead is expected to delegate tasks clearly, uphold plant care standards, monitor quality of work, and ensure job sites are left clean and professional. This role also assists in training crew members on proper horticultural practices, equipment usage, and company expectations. Success in this position means delivering consistently high-quality grounds work, maintaining organized and efficient job sites, supporting crew development, and ensuring clients receive a polished and professional experience. Key Objectives Increase Efficiency Business Growth and Scale Improved Organization Collaborative Workloads Expanding Market Shares Creating Outstanding Customer Experience Duties Prepare soil, plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and other greenery using hand tools and power tools to ensure healthy growth. Conduct regular lawn care including fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to keep garden beds healthy and lush. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, mulching, planting new greenery, and removing debris to uphold aesthetic standards. Assist with duties related to landscape projects, including soil preparation and crop rotation where applicable. Use gardening techniques aligned with horticulture best practices to promote plant health and sustainability. Maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools and power tools in excellent condition for safe and efficient work. Collaborate with team members on landscape design plans and execute projects from start to finish with precision. Skills Strong knowledge of horticulture principles, gardening techniques, and landscape maintenance practices. Greenhouse experience for nurturing plants in controlled environments before outdoor planting. Growing experience with various plants including flowers, shrubs, trees, and turf grasses. Proficiency in using hand tools (shovels, pruners) and power tools (trimmers, blowers) safely and effectively. Understanding of farming principles related to landscape projects or agricultural landscaping efforts. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a high level of energy and motivation.
