Job Description

Snow Removal Sidewalk Crew Torchwood Landscaping — Grand Rapids, MI Area If You Don't Mind the Cold and You Don't Make Excuses, Keep Reading. We're looking for dependable, hard-working people to join our snow removal sidewalk crew in the Grand Rapids area. This is physical work. You'll be outside in the middle of winter, sometimes for hours at a time, clearing snow and ice from sidewalks, entrances, walkways, and other pedestrian areas. It's cold. It's tiring. And sometimes it's going to suck. But when the storm is over, our customers need to know that their properties are safe and completely taken care of. That's where you come in. What You'll Do Clear snow from sidewalks, entrances, walkways, and pedestrian areas Use snow blowers, shovels, ice scrapers, and other snow removal equipment Apply ice melt and salt where needed Work around buildings, landscaping, vehicles, and other obstacles Follow property-specific instructions Check your work before leaving each property Communicate with the crew leader about problems or areas needing additional attention Work as part of a team to complete properties efficiently Help keep equipment organized and ready for the next property We're Looking for
People Who:
Show up every time Can handle working outside in very cold weather Are physically capable of shoveling and moving snow for extended periods Have a strong work ethic Pay attention to details Don't need to be constantly told what to do Take pride in doing things correctly Can work quickly without getting careless Have a positive attitude Are willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts during snow events Are dependable when things get difficult Are willing to help their teammates Are humble enough to listen and mature enough to take responsibility The Standard We don't want someone who walks past a patch of snow because "nobody will notice." We want someone who notices it because that's not how they want to leave the property.
Our standard is simple:
Do it right. Do it completely. Don't make us come back. The details matter in snow removal. A missed sidewalk, icy entrance, or pile of snow left where it shouldn't be can create problems for our customers and our entire team. This Job Is Not for Everyone You probably shouldn't apply if you: Don't like being outside in the cold Aren't dependable Frequently call off Don't like physical work Need someone watching you to stay productive Get frustrated when conditions are difficult Are satisfied with doing the minimum But if you're someone who shows up, works hard, pays attention, and can be counted on , we'd like to hear from you. Experience Snow removal or landscaping experience is helpful but not required . We'll teach you the equipment and process. What we can't teach is work ethic, reliability, and personal responsibility. Why Torchwood Landscaping? We're building more than a seasonal labor force. We're building a team of people who can be trusted. If you're looking for a winter job where you can work hard, learn, contribute to a team, and prove that you're someone people can count on, apply today. When the storm hits, we show up.
