Dolan's Landscape Center is seeking individuals to accurately perform duties in sales, customer service, receiving and stocking, building and maintaining displays, as well as plant care. We sell a full line of landscape materials, as well as annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs. This is a temporary position that will be from August-December. This position does require weekend and holiday work. Schedule Open 6 days a week.
Essential Responsibilities:
Customer Service
  • Welcome all customers and visitors and ensure they receive outstanding customer service.
  • Provide Information about products and services to customers who visit or call the store for information.
  • Assist customers at the cash register as needed and place orders for delivery.
  • Provide customers with product knowledge and recommendations to help them select the right products and plants for their needs.
  • Assist customers with selecting and purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for gardening and landscaping projects.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Organizational:
Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and well-organized garden center.
Sales:
Ability to effectively sell products and provide recommendations to customers. Must be able to work independently and with a team. Strong ability to connect with others and build enthusiasm about our product. Strong ability to communicate with customers, other peers, and management.
Retail math:
Basic understanding of retail math concepts such as calculating discounts or sales tax and use a Point of Sale system. Strong ability to receive customer complaints and problems that may arise. Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn about plants and gardening. The ability to properly care for all annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees. Ensure the physical cleanliness, security, and maintenance of the store. The ability to assist in implementing and maintaining seasonal product displays. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to stand on your feet for approximately 5 to 10 hours a day. The ability to lift 20lbs plus repeatedly for at least 4+ plus hours a day. The ability to lift up to 50lbs. The ability to stoop and bend repeatedly for several hours. The ability to work outdoors, which could include weather as cold as 25 degrees, and as hot as 95 degrees, with long term exposure to the sun. The ability to operate small equipment or willingness to learn. The ability to assist customers by loading landscape materials into truck beds or trailers using small equipment, for example, a skid loader. Must have great attendance and be punctual. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver's license. Qualifications Ability to interact with and build relationships with customers. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends. Willingness to learn about plants, gardening, and landscaping Technical knowledge including POS. High energy level.
