This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, applying your skills in landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, and landscaping to enhance the aesthetic appeal and health of various properties. Whether you're trimming trees, installing hardscape features, or caring for lawns and gardens, your efforts will directly contribute to vibrant, well-kept environments. This paid position is perfect for individuals passionate about outdoor work and eager to develop their skills in horticulture, equipment operation, and landscape care. Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and watering to ensure healthy growth and attractive appearance Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently Assist with landscape installation projects including hardscape features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and garden beds Conduct plant identification to properly care for diverse flora and implement pest management strategies following safety protocols Maintain cleanliness of work sites by removing debris, leaves, and waste; ensure safety standards are upheld during all activities Support seasonal tasks such as snow plowing during winter months or additional grounds upkeep as needed Follow all safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members Requirements Needs a NC Driver License Prior outdoor work experience with grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential Mechanical knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment operation is highly desirable Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices, irrigation systems, and pesticide management is a plus Ability to handle hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and power tools safely and effectively Knowledge of safety protocols related to outdoor work environments and equipment use Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor for extended periods Excellent attention to detail in maintaining landscape aesthetics and health This role offers an exciting chance to develop expertise in landscaping while contributing to beautiful outdoor spaces.
