GroundskeeperJob Title Groundskeeper Classification Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports To Lead Groundskeeper / Resort Manager Position Summary The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the resort's grounds, landscaping, and outdoor common areas. This position performs a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance duties while providing exceptional customer service to members and guests. The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in creating a clean, attractive, and welcoming environment throughout the resort. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGrounds Maintenance Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns throughout the resort. Plant, water, prune, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas. Remove weeds, leaves, debris, and litter from campsites, roads, and common areas. Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repairs. Maintain walking paths, roadsides, playgrounds, and outdoor recreational areas. Perform seasonal landscaping duties, including mulching, leaf removal, storm cleanup, and other grounds projects. Resort Maintenance Assist with general outdoor maintenance projects as assigned. Pick up and dispose of trash throughout the resort. Maintain outdoor furniture, signs, fencing, and other exterior features. Safely operate and perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and tools. Report damaged equipment, facilities, or unsafe conditions to the Lead Groundskeeper or Resort Manager immediately. Guest Service Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to all members and guests. Greet guests with a positive attitude and offer assistance when needed. Respond promptly to guest concerns and report issues to management. Help ensure the resort grounds remain clean, safe, and inviting for all visitors. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Safely operate lawn equipment, tractors, chainsaws, power tools, and other landscaping equipment. Properly store and handle fuels, chemicals, fertilizers, and herbicides. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Immediately report accidents, injuries, property damage, or hazardous conditions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Team Responsibilities Attend staff meetings and required training sessions. Work cooperatively with all resort departments. Maintain a professional appearance, including proper uniform and name badge. Meet performance goals established with the Lead Groundskeeper or Resort Manager. Perform other duties as assigned to support resort operations. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED preferred. Basic knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance practices. Ability to safely operate lawn mowers, weed eaters, edgers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, tractors, and other grounds equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record may be required. Preferred Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, golf course, campground, or park maintenance experience. Knowledge of irrigation systems. Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach for extended periods. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and other environmental conditions. Safely operate landscaping equipment, power tools, and maintenance vehicles. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours during peak seasons or emergencies. Work Schedule This position may be full-time or part-time and may be seasonal or year-round based on business needs. Weekend, holiday, and occasional overtime work may be required.
