Job Description
Job Summary ShadeTree Farms Landscaping is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a part-time Lawn Care & Landscaping Worker. This is an entry-level opportunity and a great starting point for someone looking to earn extra money, gain valuable work experience, or explore a future career in landscaping, lawn care, property maintenance, or the trades. Previous landscaping experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right person. What matters most to us is reliability, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. This is a hands-on, outdoor position. You will work alongside our team performing lawn care, landscaping, property maintenance, and general cleanup while learning how to properly use landscaping equipment and hand tools. Duties & Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to: Operate lawn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment Mow and maintain lawns Trim and edge around beds, sidewalks, driveways, and other areas Spread and install mulch Rake leaves, grass, and other debris Pick up and remove trash and debris from properties Use hand tools including rakes, shovels, hoes, and other landscaping tools Safely operate and maneuver wheelbarrows Load, unload, lift, and carry landscaping materials and equipment Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Assist with planting, flower bed maintenance, pruning, and general landscape cleanup Assist with property maintenance and improvement projects Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized Follow directions and established safety procedures Perform other general landscaping and property maintenance duties as needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Is dependable and shows up when scheduled Has a strong work ethic and is willing to work Is willing to learn new skills Can follow directions and work safely Takes pride in doing a job correctly Can work independently as well as with a small team Is comfortable performing physical labor Can lift and carry up to 50 pounds Is comfortable working outdoors for extended periods Has reliable transportation to and from work Previous lawn care or landscaping experience is a plus, but it is not required. Flexible Part-Time Schedule We understand that many of our potential employees may be high school or college students . Scheduling is flexible, with opportunities to work after school, evenings, and Saturdays when available. We will make a reasonable effort to work around school schedules and other commitments. Employees should expect to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun, wind, cold, and occasional rain. The job requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive physical activity. If you prefer to spend your workday indoors or are looking for a job that requires little physical activity, this is probably not the position for you.
