Job Description

The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of Building & Grounds Worker in the Property Maintenance and Cemetery Departments of Public Works, with an application deadline of Thursday, July 30th 2026. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants. All applicants will be required to complete an online Civil Service Exam. Exam deadline:
Saturday, August 1st 2026. Nature of Work This is a split position between Property Maintenance and Rosehill Cemetery. This is manual and semi-skilled custodial, and grounds work in the care, cleaning and maintenance of assigned city buildings and property. Also, semi-skilled cemetery operations. Work is performed under the general direction of a superintendent or other designated supervisor. Guidance and assistance may be given to seasonal workers. Education, Experience, Other Requirements Graduation from high school and practical knowledge of, or some experience in, building maintenance and groundskeeping work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid North Dakota driver license. Compensation and Benefits The assigned salary range for Building & Grounds Worker under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan is a Grade 48, with an annual base salary range of $41,492-$61,595, which $19.95-$29.61 per hour. This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position eligible for overtime. This is a fully benefitted position. Please see the current City of Minot Benefits Guide for complete information.
