Job Description

Position Description The Groundskeeper Laborer will be responsible for maintaining the landscape of our property by mowing lawns, trimming trees and bushes, watering plants and flowers, and ensuring that the grounds are always clean and tidy. The Grounds Laborer will be responsible for ensuring all locations (Omaha Track Equipment Shop, WECO Scale House, and other company owned property) are clean, organized, and safe & take pride and ownership in Omaha Track's appearance. Major Areas of Responsibility The Groundskeeper Laborer is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, organization, and safety of Omaha Track's properties throughout the year. This position will perform a variety of outdoor groundskeeping and indoor maintenance duties at the Omaha Track Equipment Shop, WECO Scale House, and other company-owned properties. The Groundskeeper Laborer is expected to take pride and ownership in the appearance and condition of all company locations. This is a year-round position requiring the ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including performing snow and ice removal during the winter months. The position will also assist with general indoor maintenance, cleaning, and special projects as needed. Major Areas of Responsibility Operate and maintain lawn mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, snowblowers, and other groundskeeping equipment. Maintain lawns and landscaping, including mowing, trimming, edging, watering, planting, pruning, and removing leaves, branches, trash, and other debris. Perform year-round snow and ice removal, including shoveling sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and other designated locations. Apply pesticides, herbicides, and other lawn treatments as needed and in accordance with safety requirements. Maintain clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor areas at all company locations. Perform general facility maintenance, including changing light bulbs and air filters, taking out trash, painting, moving materials, and making minor electrical, plumbing, and other repairs as authorized. Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment; promptly report equipment malfunctions, property damage, or safety hazards. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned, including work required during inclement weather. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, participate in required safety training, and properly use PPE at all times. Working Conditions The Groundskeeper Laborer will work both outdoors and indoors throughout the year. Outdoor work may include exposure to extreme heat, sun, rain, wind, snow, ice, and cold temperatures. The position will require working during inclement weather when necessary, particularly for snow and ice removal. The employee may also work in tight or confined spaces and in areas with significant noise, dust, fumes, moving vehicles, heavy equipment, and other potential workplace hazards. Work may occasionally be performed in isolated areas or outside of normal business operations. The employee will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary and follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. The standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, with overtime and schedule adjustments possible during peak seasons, periods of inclement weather, snow and ice events, or as business needs require.
