Grounds Worker Reports to :
Grounds Supervisor, Director of Buildings and Grounds Department:
Buildings and Grounds FLSA Classification:
Non-Exempt Position Summary Opportunity to be a part of the Buildings & Grounds Department at Delbarton School. To maintain and beautify the campus grounds and athletic fields, as well as work in conjunction with other departments to perform school and Abbey related tasks. Responsibilities Maintain campus landscape and seasonal plantings Weeding, watering, mowing, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, all phases of plant care, trash pick-up, snow/ice removal Operate and maintain vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws Maintain vehicles and equipment as necessary to ensure readiness for use. Maintain and prepare sport fields according to the athletics schedule. Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner. Cleans rain gutters and building rooftops as necessary. Irrigation system test, timing and repair as necessary. Assist in event set up when necessary (transport and set up tables and chairs) Participate in snow removal (shoveling, plowing, snow blower, salt spreader) Respond to all emergencies i.e. snow, fire, flood, etc. Requirements Must be able to life/carry at least 50 lbs, work at height (ladder, lift, scaffolding), stand, stoop. amd crawl for extended periods when necessary. Must be able to work in all weather conidtions including freezing or hot temperatures and rain/snow. Pesticide License (preferred, not required) Black Seal Boiler Operators License (or must obtain within 6 months of hire) Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
