  • Grounds Facilities Management
JOB SUMMARY
The applicant should have a working knowledge of, and ability to maintain and operate, grounds equipment including tractors, backhoes, mowers, trimmers, and blowers. The applicant must have good communication skills and be able to follow written and verbal instructions. The Facilities Management Department's mission is to support Adelphi University's focus of being a modern, metropolitan University. Our goal is to provide support to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the University. This mission is accomplished through the exceptional delivery of facilities services, in a timely and cost effective manner, while providing great customer service. Facilities Management staff members strive to maintain an efficient, safe, clean, attractive, and inviting environment for all stakeholders associated with Adelphi University. SALARY INFORMATION
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this union position is $69,965. For a list of benefits provided to employees, please click here.
REPORTS TO
Executive Director of Facilities Engagement
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Lawn care, weeding and applying plant food and seed. Tree and shrub trimming. Snow removal Litter and garbage removal.
REQUIREMENTS
(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Requires being outdoors for extended periods, in all weather conditions. Operate and maintain grounds equipment including ride-on-mowers, tractors, backhoes, trimmers, and blowers. Experience in the safe use of grounds power equipment. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Physical requirements : Requires standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One year experience in commercial grounds maintenance.
HOURS:
Wednesday
  • Sunday, 6:30am
  • 3pm. After 6 months the hours will be Wednesday
  • Sunday, 8am
  • 4:30pm.
