This role is intended for an employee with stronger hands-on landscaping experience than the lawn maintenance technician track. On the company's field scale, this position is above Lawn Maintenance Tech III. A Landscape Tech I is expected to have a more advanced understanding of landscape work, job-site quality, equipment usage, safety expectations, and outdoor field operations. This position is responsible for assisting with landscape projects including mulch installation, bed edging, planting, pruning, grading support, drainage assistance, material handling, cleanup, and general landscape construction tasks. Employees are expected to work safely, efficiently, and professionally while representing Px3 Landscaping LLC on residential and commercial client properties. Key Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance, enhancement, and installation work on residential and commercial properties, including mulch installation, planting, bed edging, pruning, trimming, cleanup, and finish work. Prepare job sites and landscape beds by removing weeds, debris, old material, and unwanted vegetation while helping ensure the finished property meets company quality standards. Assist with grading, drainage, trenching, digging, soil preparation, and other site preparation tasks as directed by the Crew Leader or Supervisor. Safely operate landscaping tools and equipment, including string trimmers, edgers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, tampers, saws, and other job-specific tools. Load, unload, stage, and move materials such as mulch, soil, stone, plants, edging, block, tools, and equipment between trucks, trailers, and job sites. Support Crew Leaders with layout, measurements, material placement, job-site organization, and quality control. Read and follow work orders, job instructions, site plans, and Crew Leader direction to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately. Identify and report job-site issues, safety hazards, material shortages, client concerns, equipment problems, or property damage to leadership. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while following all company safety procedures and using required PPE. Assist with lawn maintenance, seasonal cleanups, irrigation support, storm cleanup, snow operations, and other company services as needed. Represent the company professionally while working on client properties and interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Work Environment & Conditions This position involves working outdoors for extended periods in a variety of weather conditions. Employees may be required to work in: Extreme heat and humidity Cold temperatures and freezing conditions Rain, snow, sleet, and ice High winds or storm-related cleanup conditions Direct sunlight and prolonged UV exposure Muddy, wet, dusty, or uneven job-site conditions Work environments may include: Uneven terrain Hillsides and slopes Roadside areas Commercial properties Residential neighborhoods Construction sites Landscape beds Drainage areas Active work zones Employees may also be exposed to: Dust Pollen Grass clippings Insects Noise from power equipment Fuel and oil Mulch Soil Stone Plant material Other environmental elements common to outdoor landscape work Physical Demands This role is physically demanding and requires employees to regularly: Stand, walk, and work on their feet for 8-10+ hours per day. Lift, carry, push, or pull 75+ pounds as needed. Load and unload mulch, soil, stone, plants, debris, tools, and equipment.

Perform repeated:

Digging Raking Shoveling Wheelbarrow work Material handling Bend, kneel, squat, climb, twist, and reach frequently. Operate vibrating power equipment for extended periods. Work on hillsides, uneven ground, landscaped beds, and active job sites.

Perform repetitive motions related to:

Planting Edging Pruning Trimming Grading Cleanup Safely enter and exit work trucks and trailers multiple times per day. Employees must maintain sufficient strength, stamina, coordination, and awareness to perform physical labor safely and efficiently throughout the workday.

Requirements Minimum age:

18 years old. Valid driver's license preferred. Clean driving record required if operating company vehicles. Previous landscaping, lawn care, construction, hardscape, or outdoor labor experience required. Must have a stronger working knowledge of landscaping tasks than an entry-level lawn maintenance employee. Ability to perform landscape installation and enhancement work with supervision. Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and equipment. Ability to follow directions while also using sound judgment in the field. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work safely in physically demanding outdoor conditions. Ability to work as part of a crew and assist less-experienced team members when needed. Must be willing to attend CPR / First Aid / AED training. Must take and pass OSHA 30 training as required by company safety standards. Must pass a pre-employment background check. Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Mulch installation Planting Pruning Bed edging Grading Drainage Landscape installs Experience using commercial landscaping equipment. Ability to assist with training Lawn Maintenance Tech I, II, or III employees. Ability to work with limited supervision once instructions are provided. Basic understanding of job-site quality standards and client property expectations. Interest in advancing to Landscape Tech II or Landscape Tech III.
