The H&K Group is seeking an Asphalt Groundsperson/Maintenance team member to support our Skilled Labor operations within the Construction industry. In this hands-on role, you'll assist paving and maintenance crews with site preparation, asphalt placement, cleanup, and basic equipment care. Working outdoors in varying conditions, you'll follow strict safety standards while supporting reliable, high-quality production. Responsibilities Support asphalt paving and maintenance crews with ground labor tasks Prepare, clean, and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment Assist operators with safe setup and breakdown of paving operations Handle aggregates, asphalt, and materials per direction from foreman Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and traffic control rules Perform basic maintenance checks and report equipment issues Work collaboratively with crew to meet production and quality goals Required Skills Asphalt paving and maintenance Heavy equipment operation support Hand tools for roadwork (rakes, shovels, tampers) Basic mechanical maintenance Jobsite housekeeping and cleanup Work zone and traffic safety Reading basic plans and directions Concrete and aggregate handling Preventive maintenance assistance Lockout/tagout and safety procedures
