Landscaping Crew Member About us: Hattoy's Nursery and Garden Center was founded in 1986 by the Hattoy Family. They still are fully involved and active in the day to day operations to this day .The family business originally started as just a location to run our landscaping company out of. Over many years we have grown the business into a well respected award winning Nursery, Garden Center, and Landscaping Company in Rhode Island. At our location, we have acres of nursery stock, greenhouses, bulk landscape material, hardscape products, a main storefront, events, and more. Our company is continuing to grow and evolve. Job Position:

• Driver's license and their own reliable transportation.
• Team player mentality and able to work with a group of people to accomplish tasks.
• A overal positive attitude and an openness to learning our techniques and ways to perform our jobs on a day-to-day basis.
• Able to take direction from foremen/crew leaders on completing tasks the way they need to get done and in a safe, appropriate, and timely manner.
• Respectful and engaging with management and peers.
• Polite and friendly with customers. Conversational and helpful with answering questions or finding the right person to help our customers get what they need.
• Able to work through various seasonal weather conditions outside.
• Someone who enjoys working with plants, embraces an active outdoor lifestyle, and doing labor intensive work while getting dirty sometimes.
• A clean background check.
• Great references from past employers.
• Able to lift 40+ lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
• Able to work on your feet, all day operating landscaping equipment and preforming landscape related tasks.
• Preferred to have general horticultural or landscaping knowledge, but not required.
• Preferred to have ability to drive a small dump truck and trailer, but not required. Types of work you will be preforming on the job:
• Spring and Fall Clean ups.
• Re-edging/re-shaping landscape beds.
• Mowing lawns and weeding beds.
• Operating lawn mowing and lawn care equipment.
• Tree, shrub, and hedge trimming/pruning.
• Cleaning out landscape beds, applying weed preventer, spreading and wheelbarrowing mulch into landscape beds.
• Removing old landscapes, shrubs, etc. and installing new landscape designs and plans.
• Tree, shrub, perennial, annual and planter installation.
• Fertilizer applications.
• Lawn renovation work: de-thatching, slice-seeding, aerating, topdressing soil, sod installation.
• Assisting at our Nursery and Garden Center to unload, organize, tag, and pull plant orders.
• General landscaping tasks preformed on our property.

Pay and Benefits:

• Wages range from $19-23/hr.
