Golf Course Equipment Operator / Groundskeeper The Woodcreek Club - Elgin, South Carolina The Woodcreek Club offers a private club experience unlike any other, defined by our signature "Creek Culture"—where exceptional amenities, championship golf, and genuine hospitality come together in a welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere. Members enjoy a beautifully renovated clubhouse, a meticulously maintained Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, six pristine tennis courts, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and our new state-of-the-art Sports Complex featuring pickleball courts, enhanced tennis and pool amenities, and a full-service grill. Every aspect of the club is designed to deliver an exceptional year-round experience for members and their families. With just 270 golf and sports members, approximately 12,800 annual rounds, and year-round play on our private 18-hole course, Woodcreek provides an operating environment that emphasizes quality over volume. This allows our agronomic team to focus on precision maintenance and consistently deliver outstanding playing conditions. The club has invested more than $2.5 million in new golf course equipment over the past 18 months, complementing a recently completed multi-million-dollar clubhouse renovation and reinforcing its long-term commitment to excellence. Woodcreek Club is also the proud host of the Colonial Life Charity Classic, a Korn Ferry Tour event that debuted in 2026 to outstanding reviews from players, patrons, and Tour officials. The CLCC has quickly established itself as one of the premier stops on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule and will remain at Woodcreek Club through 2030. The Woodcreek Club is seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Equipment Operator / Groundskeeper to join our Golf Course Maintenance Department. This position is an important part of our team and will assist with the daily maintenance and presentation of our championship golf course and surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, and enjoys working outdoors as part of a team. Previous golf course maintenance or turfgrass experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn. Responsibilities Operate a variety of golf course maintenance equipment, including: Riding greens, tee, fairway, and rough mowers Utility vehicles and tractors String trimmers, blowers, edgers, and other handheld equipment Aeration, topdressing, and other specialty equipment Perform daily mowing and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and surrounding areas. Assist with course setup, including changing cups, moving tee markers, preparing practice areas, and other daily setup duties. Maintain bunkers, cart paths, landscaped areas, and other areas of the golf course. Assist with irrigation repairs, drainage work, landscaping, and general course improvement projects. Perform routine cleaning, fueling, and basic maintenance of equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures and proper operating practices. Assist with golf course preparation for tournaments and special events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Qualifications Valid driver's license preferred. Previous golf course maintenance, landscaping, turfgrass, agricultural, or equipment operation experience is preferred but not required. Ability to safely operate and learn to operate various types of equipment. Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive movements. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Schedule Golf course maintenance is an early-morning operation. Employees should be prepared to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed based on weather, course conditions, tournaments, and club events. A typical schedule will generally consist of 40+ hours per week, with the exact schedule varying seasonally and based on course needs.
