Job Description

PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager and Lead Groundskeeper, the Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the outdoor facility grounds and performing routine grounds maintenance tasks. This position requires skill in equipment operation, irrigation, snow removal, and general grounds care. Training or experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform grounds maintenance of Borla facilities including mowing, watering, trimming, and general upkeep of lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds. Perform required paperwork and documentation, work orders in an accurate, clear, timely manner. Work additional hours to complete grounds tasks to accommodate business needs or as requested. Work schedule may vary to accommodate needed repairs or damage to the property (weekends/shifts). Assist with sweeping/cleaning of parking areas and other paved areas. Ability to maintain an organized and clean workspace at all times. Ensure the security of the groundskeeping building and property during shifts. Operate snow removal equipment during off‑shift operations when necessary. Properly maintain grounds equipment including mowers, sweepers, and related tools. Operate and maintain mowers, sweepers, and other equipment used in the care of facility grounds. Inspect tractor and mower for safe and proper operation. Monitor facility grounds for necessary maintenance work to assure safety, resolve problems, or notify management as appropriate. Must wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for the assigned task. Well versed with company quality policies and procedures. Well versed with departmental documents including record keeping, SOP's, PM's, Work Orders, Work Instructions, Environmental Logs, and procedures. Respond to emergency calls outside of normal work hours. Miscellaneous duties as required or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of high school education. 4-6 years previous experience maintaining grounds preferred. Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older Must possess a current driver's license with the ability to drive company automobile and secure company insurability Knowledge of and the ability to operate maintenance equipment such as riding mowers, push lawn mowers, weed eaters/trimmers and other equipment Knowledge of and the ability to use common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc. Prior knowledge and the ability to learn about occupational hazards and safety precautions Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift, move, and carry heavy objects weighing between twenty and fifty pounds Ability to constantly bend, squat, push, pull and kneel when performing duties Literacy in English with the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Flexibility to work varying hours Ability to work in varying weather conditions Due to the operational needs of our environment, employees in this position are required to maintain reliable and consistent attendance and punctuality.
