As a Crew Lead, you will oversee the daily activities of your assigned crew, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintain the high standards of quality our clients expect. The ideal candidate is a dependable, motivated leader with strong lawn and landscape knowledge who can confidently operate equipment, train and direct crew members, troubleshoot problems in the field, and ensure each property is completed according to company standards. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, leads by example, and is ready to grow their career in the landscape industry. Duties & Responsibilities Lead and supervise a lawn maintenance crew during daily operations. Assign tasks and ensure crew members understand expectations, priorities, and property-specific requirements. Perform and oversee mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, weeding, pruning, and other routine landscape maintenance services. Ensure all properties are maintained to Clear Choice Outdoor's quality and appearance standards. Inspect completed work to ensure properties are clean, detailed, and completed according to scope. Identify and communicate property issues, irrigation concerns, plant health issues, and potential enhancement opportunities to management. Safely operate and oversee the use of mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand tools, and other landscape equipment. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or mechanical issues promptly. Ensure proper care and organization of company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment. Train, coach, and develop crew members in proper lawn and landscape maintenance techniques. Hold crew members accountable for productivity, quality, safety, attendance, and proper work practices. Communicate effectively with management regarding daily production, property concerns, crew performance, and completed work. Follow property-specific instructions, work orders, and service schedules. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing Clear Choice Outdoor on client properties. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Assist with landscape enhancement, irrigation, drainage, hardscape, and other outdoor projects as needed. Help ensure the crew stays on schedule and completes assigned work efficiently. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and represent the company professionally at all times. Skills & Qualifications Previous professional lawn or landscape maintenance experience. Strong knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, plants, pruning, and seasonal landscape practices. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to lead by example and effectively communicate with team members. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate and care for lawn and landscape equipment. Ability to identify common plant, turf, and landscape issues. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while effectively managing a crew. Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in the field. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in hot, humid, and varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as needed. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
