POSITION SUMMARY
The Landscaper / Irrigation is responsible for the completion of all tasks related maintenance and landscaping within neighborhood common areas.

  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as utility vehicles, mowers, tractors, chain saws, clippers, sod cutters, power washers and pruning saws
  • Mow or edge common areas using power mowers or edgers/trimmers
  • Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers or axes
  • Care for common areas by mulching, weeding, trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs or hedges using shears, pruners or chain saws
  • Gather and remove litter
  • Maintain structures such as buildings, fences or benches using hand or power tools
  • Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides onto grass, shrubs or trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders
  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters or other common ground features
  • Water common area trees or plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses or water tanks
  • Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds
  • Follow planned landscaping designs for planting sod, sowing grass or planting flowers or foliage
  • Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees or shrubs and apply mulch for protection using gardening tools
  • Decorate common areas with stones or plants
  • Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring
  • Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste
  • Install irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences and planters
  • Conduct preparations for holidays and special events
  • Clean and maintain all tools and equipment Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety
  • Ability to work outdoors at a sustained pace and produce quality work
  • Ability to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
  • Ability to be self-motivated to perform tasks to the best of one's ability Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
