Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper to join our team, responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of outdoor grounds. This role involves performing a variety of landscape maintenance tasks, operating groundskeeping equipment, and ensuring the health and appearance of turf, gardens, and athletic fields. Responsibilities Maintain lawns, gardens, athletic fields, and other outdoor areas through mowing, edging, fertilizing, watering, and planting. Operate groundskeeping equipment including mowers, chainsaws, power trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, mulching, aerating, and planting to promote healthy growth. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues related to irrigation equipment. Conduct routine inspections of grounds for hazards or damage; perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks as needed for repairs or installations. Apply pesticides responsibly following safety protocols to control pests while protecting surrounding environments. Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Assist in seasonal preparations such as snow removal or leaf cleanup to keep outdoor areas accessible and safe. Operate company vehicles for transportation of tools, equipment, or materials across various sites. Follow safety guidelines related to power tool operation and grounds maintenance procedures. Skills Proficiency in operating groundskeeping machinery including lawnmowers, chainsaws, power tools, and landscaping equipment. Knowledge of irrigation systems installation, repair, and management. Experience with athletic field groundskeeping or golf course maintenance is highly desirable. Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices such as planting, pruning, fertilizing, and pest management. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks with efficiency. Familiarity with pesticide management protocols and safety standards. Excellent knowledge of horticulture principles related to gardening and landscaping. Skilled in equipment maintenance to ensure longevity and reliable operation. Ability to operate company vehicles responsibly following safety regulations. Attention to detail with a focus on safety procedures during power tool use and general groundskeeping activities.
