Kohler, WI Opportunity Beneficial experience working at a multi-course facility. Interns will be encouraged to develop supervisory skills while working with a staff of 50+ associates. Specific Responsibilities To assist the superintendent and assistants in the operation and management of the golf courses. Daily activities will include, but are not limited to: All aspects of golf course maintenance, Golf Course Construction , Irrigation installation, troubleshooting and repair, Drainage, Fertilizer and Pesticide calibration and application, Turfgrass Establishment, Employee Training, Daily Labor Scheduling and Tournament Preparation.
Possible Projects:
New construction, Drainage, Addition of trees, Landscape of native plants, Fairway contours, Rogue grass removal.
Possible Research Work:
Research of particular pesticide, Water sampling and testing, Nematode research. This is a seasonal part-time position. Shifts are primarily 5:00am - 2:00pm, weekdays & weekends. Skills/Requirements Understanding levels of course conditioning (how to determine, how to attain and how to compare with other courses). Must be attending or have completed a turf management program.
