1st shift opportunity! M-F 6:45AM - 3:00PM Job description: Summary Works in tandem with extruder operator(s) within one of the three extrusion departments to ensure product specifications are achieved.

Initial Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

may be assigned to these duties daily, depending on need (e.g., vacations, call-ins, personal time of both material specialists and extruder operators) Orders materials and pigments needed for the specified production job. Calculates mix ratios and material requirements and makes necessary batches to ensure continuous flow of material throughout production run (may require mix to be make manually and in small or large amounts) Verifies all mixes for accuracy and weighs all mixes when required to ensure the least amount of excessive (overmixed) extra mixes that have no immediate use. Maintains communication with supervisor and operators regarding the possibility of mix changes, material deficiencies and low inventory levels Assists operators in purging machines between jobs Returns materials and pigments no longer needed to the warehouse. Performs mix changes when needed. Cleans equipment to eliminate contamination and maintains a clean and safe work area Assists others to move equipment, boxes, scrap, etc. as needed. Assist operators in packaging, measuring, production of product and grinding of scrap

may be assigned to these duties daily, depending on need (e.g., vacations, call-ins, personal time of both material specialists and extruder operators) Reads and understands job specifications to determine material requirements, machine operations, and packaging needs Observes machine operations to determine piece or machine defects Measures and records work piece specifications by the use of a caliper, steel rule, scale, electronic rule to determine machine accuracy and product quality Performs major assembly and packaging, lifting, stacking, taping, identifying and transporting product Work areas may be at, in or off-line activities Package parts or make cartons per Shop Order specifications Cuts, trims, de-flashes, or otherwise finishes plastic extrusions using machines such as radial arm and miter saws, drill presses, punches, coilers, sealers, routers, CNC, etc. Positions work piece against stops or align layout marks with tooling die or blade Pushes buttons, pulls saws, depresses pedals, to activate work centers Removes burrs, dust, and sharp edges from work pieces Performs typical fabrication functions at the extrusion line Keeps surrounding work area neat and clean Follows safety rules and regulations Performs tasks alone or in a team environment

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distributions of goods. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses. Hoppers, vaccuum, insert fixtures, gauges, brushes, etc. Knowledge of basic math and their applications.

Skills:

Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Abilities:

The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing. It does not involve performing the activities while the hole body is in motion. The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) to ensure part quality meets customer requirements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, pull or carry objects. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles, regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
