Job Description
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, maintain medical center grounds in all weather conditions. Responsible for mowing grass, trimming shrubs and maintaining inventory of salt and all lawn care products. Maintain and perform minor repairs on grounds equipment.Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure lawn and shrubbery is well groomed and maintained properly through planting, fertilizing, watering, seeding, and weed control. Ensure all areas are in safe and clean condition which may include, but is not limited to picking up trash, removing snow and ice, spreading salt or sand, and patching/repairing small damaged areas. Perform general painting as needed which may include light posts, railings, etc. Inspect building surfaces, fences, curbs, sidewalks for maintenance and cleaning needs. Maintain inventory of all lawn care products. Perform minor repairs and maintain grounds equipment and tools. Install landscaping items, parking blocks, seasonal or holiday decorations, etc. Weather not permitting, work may be assigned indoors. Perform other related duties as required and directed.Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Six months' previous experience operating commercial grounds equipment Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive medical center vehiclesPreferred:
Education beyond high school Two years of job related experience Master Gardener Certification or state license to perform pesticide and fertilization applicationsAdditional Information Schedule:
