Plant Care Specialist Orange Path Landscaping San Juan Capistrano, CA Job Details Part-time $22.50 - $27.50 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Orange Path Landscaping —
San Juan Capistrano, CA Pay:
$22.50-$25.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Part-time to start (weekly maintenance route + plant care work), growing toward full-time as we do — fast
Experience:
1-2 years preferred in landscape maintenance or plant care; we'll train the right attitude About Us Orange Path Landscaping is a veteran-owned design, build, and maintenance company serving South Orange County. We take pride in healthy, beautiful landscapes — not just cut grass. We're building a small crew of people who care about the craft and want to grow with us. The Role This is not a mow-and-blow job. We're looking for a Plant Care Specialist — someone who genuinely enjoys taking care of plants and wants to own the health of every landscape on our route. You'll notice when a plant is stressed before the client does. You'll know (or want to learn) why a rose gets treated with copper in one season and neem in another, why natives get planted at half their mature width, and what a clogged bubbler looks like from ten feet away. There's mowing and edging in the mix — it's landscaping — but plant health is the job, and it's the reason clients hire us over the cheaper guy. What You'll Do Run weekly maintenance visits: pruning, shaping, weeding, bed care — done right, not just fast Monitor plant health across every property — pests, disease, over/under-watering — and flag issues early Apply treatments (fertilizer, rose care programs) per our schedule Check irrigation zones, spot problems, make simple repairs Plant new material on our design/build jobs — natives, roses, trees — with proper technique Mow, edge, and blow where the route calls for it Leave every property better than you found it What We're Looking For Real interest in plant care and plant health — this is the job, not a side note
Detail-oriented:
you care how the finished work looks and whether the plant lives 1-2 years of maintenance or nursery/plant experience preferred; great attitude beats a long résumé Comfortable with standard equipment (mowers, edgers, trimmers, blowers) or eager to learn Reliable, on time, works outdoors in all weather Valid California driver's license and clean record — required (you'll eventually run the route solo) Someone who wants to grow into a lead role as we scale Why Orange Path We're young, we're growing fast, and we promote from within. The person in this role won't be employee #12 on a big crew — you'll be the plant person for a company whose clients pay for exactly that. Show up, care about the work, and there's a real path: more hours, more pay, crew lead, and design/build skills alongside maintenance.
