Shift:
Saturday from 10 to 5 PM Growing Together Nursery is a one-of-a-kind boutique store offering a curated selection of plants, garden goods, and gift shop items. We are seeking a dedicated Retail Nursery Clerk to join our close-knit team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about plants, enjoys helping others, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Job Responsibilities Greet customers and assist them in finding plants and other products (ex. fertilizer) and answering questions Troubleshoot plant/pest issues over the phone and in person (plant ID, disease ID, plant care advice) Offer product information Proactively seek to drive sales through a "customer centric approach" Stock, water, and maintain plants and displays Receive, stock, and organize inventory Maintain clean and safe walkways, displays, and work areas Operate point-of-sale system for sales transactions Support seasonal nursery projects and special events as needed Follow all safety and operational procedures Other duties as assigned Key Result Areas Regularly check the soil moisture and water plants as needed Identify and address pest or disease issues promptly Maintain organized plant displays for optimal growth and customer appeal Engage with customers, offering knowledgeable advice on plant care and selection Handle customer queries and complaints with a positive attitude Process transactions quickly and accurately at the cash register Delegate tasks to other team members when necessary Ensure compliance with store policies and procedures Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restock as needed Arrive on time for every shift and minimize absenteeism Communicate proactively with the store manager about schedule changes or conflicts Cultivate a trustworthy reputation among team members and customers Job Qualifications AA/AS in Horticulture 3 or more years of experience in retail nursery Passionate about gardening and excited to expand plant knowledge Works well in a team and is a clear communicator Proactive and a self-starter Growth-oriented Great with people Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, or landscaping preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude Background check
Physical Requirements:
Is able and willing to work outside everyday, rain or shine (and heat and cold) Is able and willing to lift up to 40lbs Is able and willing to stand, bend, twist, and squat repetitively throughout the shift
