About Us Fruit Trees Only is a dedicated fruit tree nursery committed to growing high-quality plants and providing excellent service to our community. We take pride in cultivating healthy trees and helping our customers succeed in their growing endeavors. We are seeking a hardworking, dependable Farm Operations Specialist to join our team and help keep our nursery thriving. Position Summary As a Farm Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in the daily care, maintenance, and upkeep of our fruit tree nursery. This is a dynamic, physically active, outdoor role involving plant care, grounds maintenance, and customer interaction. If you enjoy working outdoors, learning about plant care, and taking pride in keeping property well-maintained, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities Plant Care & Nursery Operations:
Perform daily watering, weed removal, and routine plant care to maintain optimal crop health. Execute up-potting duties, transferring growing trees from smaller to larger containers as needed. Apply fertilizers and soil amendments according to prescribed schedules.
Grounds Maintenance & Facility Upkeep:
Maintain nursery grounds by mowing grass, operating string trimmers/weed eaters, and clearing overgrown areas. Keep pathways, staging areas, and workspaces clean, organized, and safe.
Customer Support:
Assist retail customers with enthusiasm and care. Load trees, pots, and nursery supplies into customer vehicles safely.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Prior experience in farming, landscaping, horticulture, or outdoor labor preferred (nursery/fruit tree experience is a plus, but willing to train the right person).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold). Ability to lift, carry, and move 50+ lbs regularly. Comfort operating basic outdoor power equipment (mowers, trimmers).
Skills & Attributes:
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Friendly demeanor and good communication skills when assisting customers. Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team. Proven communication in English. Spanish is a plus.
