Job Description

To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children on Sunday mornings at West Side United Methodist Church. The primary focus is on nursery care, ages 0-4. On Sundays when there are no nursery age children present, the nursery coordinator will function as a children's ministry assistant in the elementary class. The Nursery Coordinator will arrive at 10am on Sundays, 30 minutes prior to Morning Worship. Childcare hours include every Sunday between the hours of 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM. Hours may vary during special services/events, and holidays including Christmas Eve, Easter, Ash Wednesday. Summer hours and availability can be discussed/flexible. Candidate is at least 18 years of age. Satisfactory completion of background check. Satisfactory completion of CPR and first-aid training for infants and children. Three successful references. Background in education or early childhood development Church/Christian Background Experience planning and executing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Facilitated play-based learning activities
