Permanent Simply Education is recruiting on behalf of an established nursery in central Lincoln for an enthusiastic and experienced Room Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified childcare professional who is passionate about Early Years education and is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive nursery environment. We are keen to hear from candidates with experience working in Baby Rooms, Toddler Rooms or Pre-School Rooms. The Role As Room Lead, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your allocated room, providing high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for the children in your care. You will lead and support the nursery team within your room, ensuring children receive consistent, nurturing and stimulating experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Key Responsibilities Take responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of the allocated nursery room. Lead, motivate and support the room team, promoting high standards of childcare practice. Create a warm, safe, inclusive and stimulating environment for children. Plan and provide engaging activities that support children's individual development and interests. Follow and promote the EYFS framework and ensure children's learning and development needs are met. Complete and contribute to observations, assessments and children's learning journeys. Ensure children's individual needs, routines and care requirements are understood and consistently followed. Build strong and positive relationships with parents and carers. Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness. Support and mentor other practitioners within the room. Ensure appropriate ratios and supervision are maintained at all times. Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team. Support the settling-in process for new children and help ensure transitions between rooms are positive. Maintain accurate records and contribute to nursery documentation and planning. Promote positive behaviour and support children's emotional wellbeing. Lead by example, demonstrating excellent professional standards and a genuine passion for early years education.
The successful candidate will:
Hold a minimum Level 3 Childcare Practitioner qualification. Have previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting. Ideally have experience as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, Room Lead or similar position.(Preferred, not essential) Have experience working with children in a Baby, Toddler or Pre-School Room. Have a strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures. Be confident leading and supporting a team. Have excellent communication and organisational skills. Be nurturing, enthusiastic and passionate about children's learning and development. Be reliable, professional and committed to providing outstanding care. Be able to build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
