Job Description
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. This position is represented by the Public Employees, Local 71, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

7am to 3:30pm shift Monday thru Friday or 6am- 4:30pm Monday

LOCATION
Eagle River/Chugiak Parks & Recreation, 12001 Business Blvd., Ste. 123 Eagle River, AK 99577 Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps. To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances. Applicants shall be referred and considered for this position in the order as follows per theCollective Bargaining Agreement:
Internal applicants currently working under the Public Employees (Local 71) Collective Bargaining Agreement Local union dispatched applicants External applicants and other current Municipal employees not covered under this agreement This position maintains parks, sports facilities, outdoor recreation facilities, trails, and municipally owned grounds. Winter duties may include, but are not limited to: maintaining ice rinks, ski trails, park equipment, and removing snow from trails, parking lots, and roadways. Summer duties may include, but are not limited to, collecting litter, mowing turf, cleaning and repairing bike trails, repairing playground equipment, vandalized parks, and maintaining sports fields. Performs other duties as assigned.- Three (3) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
- Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
- Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
