Camp Dearborn in Milford
HOURS/ PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT
Seasonal position - during the months of April- November. Camp Dearborn is a seven-day operation. The schedule for this position will vary and will include mandatory weekends and holidays. Extended time off during this period is extremely limited. Most positions average 40 hours per week. Employees under 18 years of age will be limited to shifts that align and follow state and federal regulations for minors.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position references general manual labor at Camp Dearborn. Assigned areas/ divisions of the park include duties in, but are not limited to: assisting with the operation of Recreation Activities & Events, Paddle Boats & Adventure Golf, Canteen & Pool Canteen Concessions, collection of gate admission fees, retail sales, comfort station maintenance, and the general park maintenance of onsite facilities: trash collection, BBQ & fire pit cleaning, beach & lake maintenance, painting, lawncare, and other duties as assigned.
NOTE:
Other duties for employees with a valid driver's license may include driving various Camp Dearborn vehicles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Functions essential to attaining job objectives. Several functions are not permitted for staff under the age of 18. Tasks will be assigned by management in accordance with regulations governing the employment of minors ) Assisting in physically transporting heavy objects i.e. moving picnic tables. Assisting in loading and unloading, i.e. ice and firewood deliveries. Assisting in maintaining grounds and landscaping, i.e. weed whipping and clean-up of natural debris. Assisting in the maintenance of park property, i.e. painting, cleaning, basic repair work. Works outdoors potentially in extreme heat, rain or other unfavorable weather conditions. Follows verbal and written instruction. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Skill in accurately counting and recording cash transactions with speed. Some knowledge of routine office practices and methods. Previous customer service training with a positive attitude and outgoing personality. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Ability to follow through with task completion.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
: Applications will be reviewed. Qualified applicants will be scheduled for an interview to be held at Camp Dearborn.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
: Must submit to a criminal history check (sex offender registry if applicable) and pre-employment physical/drug screen.
