  • while gaining valuable hands-on skills to support a career in natural resource management and conservation. This position is year-round and up to 40 hrs / week. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Restoration and Recreation
  • Manage invasive plants such as ravenna and kochia
  • Plant and maintain native trees and shrubs
  • Perform vegetation surveys, restoration monitoring, and data collection
  • Perform trail work to support mixed-use recreation Maintenance
  • Clean up and remove trash and graffiti
  • Maintain and install signage at trailheads
  • Maintain shared vehicles, equipment, and tools Public Outreach and Education
  • Interface with the public on a regular basis to inform about rules and regulations, trail etiquette, and upcoming events
  • Respond to general questions and concerns
  • Work alongside volunteers, partners, and youth crews

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Pass a background check
  • Possess a valid New Mexico Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Have or be willing to obtain a City Operator's Permit (COP) and drive a City vehicle
  • Have reliable transportation to and from Open Space's Montessa Office Logistics Reporting Location Open Space's Montessa Office 3615 Los Picaros Rd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87105 Work location All Open Space properties throughout Albuquerque, but focused on the Bosque (Rio Grande Valley State Park).
