THPRD is seeking a Park Maintenance Specialist to help oversee essential maintenance operations, support staff development, and ensure top-quality service across our parks and recreational facilities. About the

Role:

Under general supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor, you'll plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee maintenance services within an assigned program area. You'll lead a team of full-time and part-time team members including coordinating and motivating staff, managing schedules, organizing workload and assignments, and training employees. This position works independently on varied, complex tasks and plays a key role in evaluating program performance, improving procedures, and ensuring smooth operations across parks, natural areas, athletic fields, and more. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm. Assignments and schedules are subject to change based on organizational and seasonal need.

What You'll Do:

You will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality public spaces. This is an abbreviated list. Developing schedules, monitoring progress, and evaluating program effectiveness. Serving as a liaison with sports staff, special events teams, private industry, community partners, and other agencies. Supervising and motivating staff and volunteers—providing training, assigning work, and ensuring high performance. Assisting with budget's, monitoring expenditures, preparing reports, and managing records. Soliciting bids, managing procurement, maintaining inventories, and working with vendors for cost-effective solutions. Performing hands-on maintenance tasks across parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, landscapes, trees, turf, and hard surfaces. Supporting urgent park-related needs outside normal working hours when required.

Physical & Working Environment:

This role splits time between office and field environments. Expect regular computer work, frequent coordination with coworkers and the public, and physical tasks such as lifting equipment up to 50 pounds, navigating varied terrain, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
