Job Summary:

A tree climber is responsible for performing various tasks related to tree care and maintenance. This includes pruning, trimming, shaping, and removing trees using specialized climbing techniques and equipment. The primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of trees, while also protecting people and property from potential hazards.

Responsibilities:

Tree Pruning and Trimming:

Trim and prune trees to remove dead or hazardous branches, improve tree structure, and enhance aesthetics.

Tree Removal:

Safely and efficiently remove trees that are dead, diseased, damaged, or pose a risk to property or safety. This may involve the use of chainsaws and rigging equipment.

Climbing:

Use climbing techniques, ropes, harnesses, and safety equipment to ascend and work in trees. Ensure the proper use of safety gear at all times.

Tree Inspection:

Assess the health and structural integrity of trees, identifying signs of disease, infestation, or instability.

Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain and inspect climbing equipment, chainsaws, and other tools to ensure they are in good working condition.

Emergency Response:

Respond to emergency situations, such as storm damage or fallen trees, to clear hazards and restore safety.

Tree Planting:

Assist with tree planting initiatives by selecting appropriate species and ensuring proper planting techniques.

Consultation:

Provide advice to property owners on tree care, maintenance, and the best practices for tree preservation.

Safety:

Adhere to safety standards and protocols to minimize risks associated with tree climbing and cutting. Ensure the safety of oneself, team members, and the public.

Documentation:

Maintain records of work performed, including tree assessments, maintenance activities, and any necessary permits or approvals.

Environmental Conservation:

Promote the preservation of trees and natural habitats, and adhere to local environmental regulations.

Requirements:

Experience:

Typically, several years of experience as a tree climber or arborist, with a strong understanding of tree biology, care, and maintenance.

Physical Fitness:

Maintain good physical condition to handle the physical demands of tree climbing, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with various tree species, diseases, and pests, as well as the ability to identify potential hazards and assess tree health.

Safety Awareness:

A strong commitment to safety, including knowledge of safe climbing techniques, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.

Communication:

Effective communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and property owners.

Licensing:

Clean Valid Florida's Driver's License Attention to

A keen eye for detail to ensure proper tree care and maintenance. Bi-Lingual a plus but not required Bucket Truck operator Tree Climber with Drivers License-$22.00 per hour Tree Climber without Drivers License-$20.00 per hour
