Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aviation Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation maintenance, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring safe and high-quality service. This position involves hands-on work in the maintenance shop, performing inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance on a variety of aircraft. The Aviation Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with federal regulations, Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies. As part of our team, you will contribute towards a safe, efficient, and profitable operation, ensuring timely and airworthy return of aircraft to service. Aircraft Maintenance Technicians report to the Maintenance Shop Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Aircraft Maintenance & Repair:
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various aircraft systems: Conduct inspections and maintenance on aircraft structures and systems (engines, avionics, landing gear, electrical, etc.) in compliance with federal regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues: Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues through troubleshooting procedures. Return aircraft to service in airworthy condition: Complete repairs and maintenance to ensure aircraft are returned to airworthy condition.
Collaboration & Communication:
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operation and timely completion of maintenance tasks: Work with teams to align maintenance schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and operations remain efficient and safe. Communicate with the Maintenance Shop Lead regularly regarding job progress: Provide consistent updates to the Maintenance Shop Lead on task status, including time and material estimates, for accurate progress tracking. Assist with researching service bulletins, ADs, and service letters to evaluate progress and make necessary adjustments: Research and interpret service bulletins, ADs, and related documents to inform decisions and ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
Documentation & Compliance:
Complete detailed work orders and provide accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and other required paperwork: Accurately document all maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and parts used. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with federal regulations, ADs, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date records for all maintenance tasks, including parts used and time spent on each job: Keep current and comprehensive records of all tasks, including parts used and time spent, ensuring accuracy for future reference.
Parts Management & Procurement:
Research parts needed for aircraft repairs and submit parts requests to ensure timely delivery and availability: Investigate and request necessary parts to ensure timely procurement and avoid delays in the repair process. Work with the Maintenance Shop Lead to ensure parts are ordered and stocked in time for scheduled maintenance or repairs: Collaborate with the Maintenance Shop Lead to ensure parts are ordered and available when needed to maintain an efficient workflow.
Safety & Quality Control:
all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate safety equipment and adherence to safety rules: Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE to minimize risks and ensure compliance with safety standards. Perform work in accordance with industry best practices to ensure the highest quality of maintenance and repair services: best practices and manufacturer guidelines to deliver high-quality, reliable maintenance services that meet or exceed regulatory standards. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, maintaining a professional and efficient environment: Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring proper safety practices and efficient access to tools and equipment.
Continuous Improvement & Efficiency:
Develop and maintain a standard for completing work efficiently and in a timely manner without compromising safety or quality: Establish and maintain standards for efficient work, ensuring all tasks meet safety and quality requirements. Participate in team efforts to streamline workflows and enhance operational performance: Collaborate with team members to identify improvements and implement strategies to increase operational efficiency. Ensure timely communication with the Maintenance Shop Lead on job status and any issues encountered during repairs: Provide regular, timely updates on task progress, challenges, and any issues affecting completion.
