Animal Caretaker

Canine Rehabilitation Center and Cat Sanctuary is an animal shelter, rehabilitation center, and behavior training center. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization. The Animal Caretaker position is an entry-level position that provides support to CRCCS shelter dogs and program dogs. The Animal Caretaker strives to improve the quality of life for our dogs by preparing food and medications, setting up rooms, cleaning the facility, and walking dogs. Applicants should have some prior experience with working with dogs.

Essential Duties:

This position is very physical. Caring for animals requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the day. Our dogs are provided with many outings each day, and those outings can be in very hot or cold weather. Applicants should be agreeable to working in a variety of weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide daily care and attention to our animals. Feed, water, clean and groom animals. Bathe animals. Clean and sanitize animal enclosures. Maintain cleanliness of the facility and equipment. Assist with any other animal care needs. Communicate with veterinarians or other qualified professionals to ensure the best care possible for our animals. Work cooperatively with team members to ensure the overall well-being of all animals in their care. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures as outlined by the company, employees, and their clients. Maintain a positive attitude and good work ethic in all situations.

Dog Handling:

Walks dogs according to skill set and provides enrichment for sanctuary dogs. Feeds specific dogs based on approval from Training & Enrichment staff and according to CRCCS' structured feeding routine.
