Position Title Apprenticeship Navigator

Classification Summary Under the direction of the MoSEPWork Grant Lead, the Apprenticeship Navigator is responsible for the recruiting and successful completion of program participants. The Apprenticeship Navigator assist students in linking academic, personal and professional goals and resources to ensure persistence to graduation. The Apprenticeship Navigator is vital to developing and recording the key data points needed to ensure program and apprenticeship completion. The Apprenticeship Navigator tracks student performance and complies with all grant reporting requirements including confidential storage of all student records. This position is paid by grant-funds through 2028. This grant aims to lead the implementation of vital apprenticeship programs that strengthen the local workforce and provide students with hands-on experience in high-demand fields. As the grant lead, Jefferson College will coordinate efforts among a consortium of five Missouri colleges to deliver comprehensive training and real-world experience to students, preparing them for successful careers while addressing the workforce needs in the region. Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience Bachelor's degree in education or related field and minimum of one year of related experience. Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience Licensing Requirements None Essential Job Function These are the job duties that are required of the position. Classification Duties 1. Provide academic, career, and personal guidance to students throughout the College. (C4) 2. Research academic, career, and personal information necessary to support student needs, while compiling and providing internal and external resources. (C4) 3. Ensure the safety of student records and other information by filing documentation in the proper areas, both physically and through various software programs. Determine if student information should be shared to outside constitutes, as needed. (B2) 4. Coordinate and facilitate campus visits and/or events for current and prospective students. (B2) 5. Coordinate and teach courses and workshops for program participants. (C4) 6. Perform communication duties such as creating and maintaining social media sites content as assigned. (B2) 7. Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned. Position Duties Recruit and screen potential youth and adult candidates interested in apprenticeship training programs. Meet with participants to establish eligibility, complete intake documents, review employment outlook, create individualized career plans, and provide orientation on rules, expectations, and resources. Act as a coach to motivate participants toward program completion and employment. Facilitate instruction on job-seeking skills, resume writing, application procedures, interview preparation, and job retention strategies. Maintain contact with participants, monitor their attendance and progress, and advise on support services when necessary. Collect, compile, and report recruitment, enrollment, and navigation services data to meet strategic enrollment needs and grant requirements. Prepare documents, reports, and routine correspondence. Assist in preparing quarterly, final, and other reports required by the grant. Build relationships with local community service agencies for student support service referrals. Collaborate with program and grant staff to develop systems and procedures and ensure proper service delivery. Direct prospective students through the Workforce application process, provide accurate program information by maintaining a working knowledge of Workforce and Employment services programs and services and maintain employment and education records. Process all information requests and input and track all applications. Manage communications with stakeholders, maintain the job board, and ensure compliance with FERPA in all communications.
