Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking reliable, safety-focused team members to support our Aquatic Vegetation Harvesting Operations. This role involves operating and maintaining aquatic vegetation harvesting equipment used to remove invasive and nuisance aquatic plants from lakes, rivers, canals, and waterways. Operators work outdoors in a team environment to improve water quality, navigation, and ecosystem health. Key Responsibilities Operate aquatic vegetation harvesting equipment, boats, conveyors, and support machinery safely and efficiently Harvest, transport, and offload aquatic vegetation from waterways Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment and vessels Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational guidelines Assist with equipment setup, fueling, cleaning, and transportation Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and clients Maintain accurate daily operation and maintenance logs Support shoreline cleanup and related field operations as needed Qualifications Experience operating boats, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery preferred Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to safety Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required Boating or marine operation experience is a plus Preferred Skills Knowledge of aquatic vegetation management or environmental services Experience with hydraulics, diesel engines, or welding Ability to trailer boats and equipment OSHA, boating safety, or equipment certifications are beneficial Work Environment Outdoor, field-based work on lakes, ponds, rivers, and wetlands Seasonal schedules may include early mornings, long days, and occasional weekends Travel to project sites may be required
