Job Summary Summary Responsible for overseeing daily operations of the aquatics program, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for patients and participants. Coordinates and leads aquatic activities, supervises lifeguards and staff, and ensures compliance with safety and health regulations. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions- Monitors the safety and cleanliness of the pool area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinates and leads therapeutic and fitness aquatic programs for patients and other participants.
- Supervises lifeguards and aquatic staff, providing guidance and scheduling.
- Ensures all equipment is in proper working order and initiates maintenance when needed.
- Manages pool schedules, coordinating with hospital departments and external groups.
- Assists in developing and improving aquatic programs to meet the needs of patients and participants.
- Maintains accurate records of pool usage, incidents, and staff certifications.
- Conducts safety drills and provides ongoing training for staff in emergency response and lifeguarding. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? - American Red Cross required Certified Water Safety Instructor [WSI]
- American Red Cross required Experience Experience in aquatics supervision or pool management 2-3 years required and Experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting 2-3 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing a team.
- Knowledge of aquatic safety standards and leading practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and participants.
- Ability to handle emergency situations and make quick, effective decisions.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, staff, and program activities.
